Frequently Asked Questions

  • The term “cat lounge” comes from “cat cafe”. Cat cafes were created in Asia to accommodate people who were not able to have their own cat due to apartment/housing rules.

  • You can do just about anything! You can read, work and study, chat with friends and family, have a date night with your partner, play card and board games, participate in lounge events, and of course, play with cats and adopt cats!

  • Yes. All of the lounge cats have received their vaccinations, including the rabies vaccine. They are combo tested for FeLV/FIV, with negative results. Every cat is spay/neutered and have their microchip. All cats are fully vetted so that they can be adopted.

  • We do offer self serve beverages, however we are not a full service café offering made-to-order drinks.

  • We LOVE cats— we really do. Unfortunately, we do not allow outside pets and animals inside the lounge. Our top priority is the mental and physical health and safety of the cats already in the lounge.

  • Our lounge relies on guest contributions to support our cats, a clean environment, and our staff.

  • Standard visitation is typically an hour. If there is no wait, you can add an additional 30 minutes, but walk-in entry is not guaranteed. We recommend booking a visit online to make sure you have a chance to visit us!

  • All of the cats in our lounge come from local rescues. If you are interested in adopting a cat you must fill out an application from the rescue the cat belongs to. All adoptions will be handled through the rescue.

  • Our lounge acts as a temporary home for the rescue cats in our care and a matchmaking facility for cats and people. Your visits help keep cats out of shelters and cages and supports a system the helps them find their forever companion.

  • There are many ways to support the cats.

    (1) Make donations to our partner cats rescues;

    (2) Share Cat Haven Lounge’s and its partner’s social media links (websites, social platform links);

    (3) Spay/neuter and microchip your cats; and

    (4) Support cats in your own community through local rescues and volunteering.
